The Unexpected Guest

By Agatha Christie (ghost writer)

-pgs: 210

This is an Agatha Christie play that has been made into a novel. Therefore, it is ghost written by another person Charles Osbourne. Unfortunately, the book does not read like an Agatha Christie novel. In addition, the characters are not well developed and for this reason their actions at times seem very contrived or almost forced. It is like everything is developed fast (without anytime for breath) and is over in a blink of any eye. Another problem I have with this story is the use of the word bitch – something that Agatha Christie would never have said. It surprised me! This story does have an Agatha Christie ending which makes the short read worthwhile and causes some pondering for the reader.
