Another great tale of romance and intrigue. In this story, the main character Delilah Montague has to come to terms with her painful past to see the bright future she could have in her life. Also, Montague has to deal with a man who is blackmailing her, a loud neighbor who makes all his noise at night, a baby that someone left with her, a hectic business and her mentor’s daughter who is convinced that she is no good. To sum up, Delilah’s life is very hectic. This book is an excellent read when you think in terms of popular fiction. It flows well and the conflict keeps you involved until the end. I did find some parts to be reminiscent of previous works I have read like the abandoned baby is very similar to the plot line in Janet Evanovich’s Thanksgiving. This was equally amusing to me because on the last two stories I have read by Banks Evanovich is quoted. However, this is a forgivable “borrowing” that Banks does. In conclusion, if you are interested in some fun fiction with a strong female character, this is the book to choose.

Another suspense filled mystery story by this well-known author. Evanovich creates new characters as well as a new setting in this story that differentiates itself from her Stephanie Plum number series. As always, Evanovich’s characters are very unique and well-developed. Each character has their own quirks that make them memorable and adds to the comedy of the tale. Evanovich sticks to her career in mystery writing in this tale that is set in Miami. The pages practically turn themselves and before you know it you are completely enraptured in the story. Although I love the Plum series, I found this story to be equally exciting and satisfying. A great work of popular fiction that I would recommend to any mystery reader who enjoys not only mystery but also adventure and romance.

The focus of this story is on a business woman who has found her true love but is now trying to figure out if marriage is possible for her. She has seen in her life many people who have sworn to love each other for forever and have failed miserably at that. She questions if she will or if he will be able to make the love last. The main character is also stressed with her friends, her job, her home life and her potential wedding that she looks to other things to help her get through this. I found the story to be a little annoying in the since that the author took a perfectly good story and tried to make it something more. I feel that the tale at times becomes too preachy to its audience and that this was adding in to make the tale better than it was; when in fact, it actually detracts from the story. As a reader in your mind, you are saying okay I get the message now move on with the story. It is almost like the author uses her tale to address social issues that she is concerned with and does it in a manner that insults the reader. It was really difficult for me to look past this and I would only recommend this story to someone who would not be annoyed with this continuous preaching.
