Middlemarch
By George Eliot
-pgs: 785
A huge undertaking for an author. Eliot writes a remarkable story about the interactions as well as the personal challenges of characters within a town, Middlemarch. This novel covers everything from art to religion to politics to science to self to society to human relationships and to marriage. Not only is this a huge undertaking for the writer but also for the reader. The story is at times extremely hard to follow as well as slow and at times uninteresting. However, it does have its interesting parts and while reading it you look forward to the chapters that cover the families you are specifically interested in.
