Intruder in the Dust
By William Faulkner
-pgs: 297
I found this novel to be entirely annoying. Faulkner’s writing style made me feel like I was swimming in the sea with no shore in sight, tired and close to drowning. I personally feel that he could have said everything he needed to say in 100 pages. Instead, each chapter drug on and on in the same pattern with his unnecessary language and his extreme explanation of life were horrible and they would scare away any reader. The story line once you get passed everything else was interesting. However, I doubt anyone in today’s society will find this novel interesting or worthy of reading.
