Great Expectations

By Charles Dickens

-pgs: 482

Great story about the importance of education. A young man receives an interesting turn in his life. He has received from a benefactor his education. He believes that this benefactor is the town’s wealthy, aloof, recluse Miss Havisham who is raising a young girl to make men crazy (she was jilted and this is her revenge). Pip believes that he is being educated and having his destiny changed in order that he is prepared to marry this girl. However, he is wrong and it is a mystery until the end of the novel who his benefactor is. A great novel with good twists that make it a classic.
