The last of the Harry Potter books!! I have followed this series since the very beginning and although I am happy to finish it, I am also sad. It was very bittersweet. I felt that Rowling did an excellent job of tying up all the loose ends as well as maintaining some unexpected surprises that might shock the readers. She also did a wonderful job of not making the story a farewell story but instead maintaining a unique plot line that kept the reader engaged through the suspense she developed. As a Harry Potter fan, I was very pleased with the ending and was even happier that she supplied an epilogue that showed what the surviving characters were doing nineteen years later. I foresee Harry Potter becoming an important piece of youth literature like other serial works: the Chronicles of Narnia and Lord of the Rings. I would recommend these books to anyone who enjoys fiction of any age.

-pgs: 652

The sixth novel in the Harry Potter sequence. This novel has a much happier tone to it then the fifth novel did. In this novel, Harry is now captain of his Quidditch team and is responsible to develop a team. He is experiencing new fame because he in known by everyone as the chosen on since his actions in the last book. Harry has a new love in this book and he is still mediating between his two friends. He is very involved with his studies and his personal lessons with Dumbledore. Snape is finally appointed the position as the Defense of Dark Arts teacher and Harry gets help in potions from the half blood prince. Tragedy occurs at the end of this novel which makes Harry believe that he will not return to Hogwarts the following year. A must read.
