A poignant story of a special relationship between a young boy and girl who create a mythical land Terabithia. It is here that they play and learn from each other and slowly grow closer to each other. However, it is a story of loss and specifically the loss of a loved one. This is a great young adult book that I would recommend for sixth grade readers. It will teach them many things about the importance of friendships and how loss fits into life. A wonderful story that is full of emotion.
