The story of the life of Owen Meany, a person who is not normal and believes that he is the vessel of God and has been placed on the earth to fulfill God’s will. He believes his abnormalities will help him complete this task. It is also the story of his friend John Wheelwright who is coming of age in this story. The story tells the life of the two boys from infancy to adulthood and it explains the history that occurred during this time. This novel is quite different from the movie that is loosely based off of it. It is very well written, descriptive and imaginative.
