A sixth grade reading level novel. A mystery where the new inhabitants of Dies Drear are trying to figure out the history of the house and it’s secret. Knowing that the home was used as a stop in the Underground Railroad adds to the eeriness of the house. The oldest son discovers the answer to the home and the riddle of the mystery. The solution brings together two families and creates a community. It is very well done for a younger audience and should mesmerize their attention.
