This is the story of a woman who was born in New Gate prison and attempts to live a life without any family, any support, any money or social background. She uses her best assets her body to marry men and makes money this way. She goes through many marriages and romances and even spends time as a thief. However, she is caught and thrown into prison and is sent to the continent for her misbehavior. There she receives the surprise of her life when she finally marries for love and for security; she has been rehabilitated. This story is extremely well done and written in such a way that you feel sorry for Moll and all that happens to her.
