By Geoffrey Chaucer

-pgs: 487

The story of pilgrims from all social backgrounds who have arranged to go on a pilgrimage to Canterbury and the shrine of St. Thomas. The night before they leave they all meet at an inn where their host suggests to keep their amusement up on their pilgrimage that each pilgrim tells two stories one going and coming. Then at the end the Host would decide who had created the best story and who had won the challenge. Unfortunately, Chaucer died before it was finished. One must read this classic and appreciate its rhyming poetry. In addition, the unique stories that Chaucer creates are very memorable and well-written.
