The story of a young girl’s introduction into society. This story shows both the good and the worst sides of society particularly involving men and their reaction and attempts at Evelina. It is also written in letter format similar to Samuel Richardson’s Pamela. Very well written with a lot of insight into a female character growing up into society. One drawback is that many characters write letters in this novel and it is times hard to keep these characters straight. Therefore, it is a little confusing.
