An interesting tale that provides insight into the mind of those people who are bulimic and anorexic. It shows how these people think and how they view themselves. You see one person progress from being what we would term “normal” to having severe problems with these diseases to beginning to overcome them. Although I did feel at times that some of this information and some of this story was a bit contrived. I felt that the content of the book was good but some of it seemed too made up. This was not as good as other Anonymous books but I am sure young adults who are dealing with these diseases would find the information interesting.

-pgs: 241

A sad tale of a young girl who is befriended by a young man who forcibly rapes her. She is afraid of who to tell because she is unsure if she was actually raped or if she caused the rape to occur herself. She is very confused. Finally, she admits the truth to her mother and begins to move past this horrific time in her life. Several months later, she discovers that she has contracted the HIV virus from this forcibly rape. The rest of the story explains her experiences with this disease and how her life changes. It is a very interesting story because it is truthful. From a young girl’s diary, one sees the real horrors of this disease. This story is very enlightening and should be read by all young adults to understand the effects of this disease. In addition, it should help them understand the negative consequences of casual sex, casual drug use, etc. A hard read but one that is full of valuable information.
