Maya Angelou a woman of many talents and lives. A few famous faces make vignettes in this section of her autobiography are Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, James Baldwin, James Earl Jones and many other African American freedom fighters. Although this section of her autobiography only spans five years, it seems to last a lifetime and she has many adventures. She truly is someone who has lived and she has fought for a great cause Freedom! An easy to read, truly touching tale of a woman fighting against her many oppressors which range from lovers to a husband, to her own inner thoughts, to members of her own race and to those who opposed her struggle. Easy to read and easy to cherish by all.
