A true coming of age story for Antonio Marez, who is trying to come to terms with his religious views, his pagan ideas and his experiences with the witch Ultima. Tonio forms a special bond with Ultima when his family takes her in. Through this bond, he sees first hand how she heals, helps other and stops evil. He then has to reflect on this in terms of his own ideals. This story looks in depth into Tonio’s family and the assimilation of his father’s side The Wanderers and his mother’s side The Farmers in him and how it shapes him. It also focuses in on the Hispanic culture. It is an in-depth look into the famous theme of good versus evil. A definite read.
